Yummy Cow Meat

Dinner last nite was at morton's @ the oriental w my fellow expensive-food foodie, rachel.
but becoz reservation was at 7.30pm and we were there at 6.30pm,

we popped into the bar for $10 martinis...
it was pretty crowded... we had to stand at the bar.
of coz we started w lychee martinis...
halfway thru, the steak sandwiches came!!
and i'm sure everyone knows abt these yummilicious steak sandwiches.

shortly after, we progressed from standing at the end of the bar to seats in the middle of the bar.
and i was craving for more yummy steak sandwiches.
and juz when i tot dat there's no more steak sandwiches,
2 more big trays came in!!
one more round of sandwiches.
and by now, it's round 2 of martinis, chocolate martini for me...

i was constantly reminded not to go for steak sandwich round3 coz got steak dinner later.
so had to resist.

so 7.30 came and we went in for dinner.
we sat there, expecting someone to give us menus but were told dat our server will pop over for a presentation of the meat cuts and stuff.

so we waited. while waiting, an egg-and-onion bread was served.
and dat was juz so good as well... but i went easy on the bread...
i want my cow.

so the server came and did her presentation of all the meat cuts and the other entrees.
and the presentation includes "larry", a live lobster, juz to show dat lobster's on the menu.

hehe...
i wanted to try the porterhouse steak but was feeling not so v hungry after the martinis,
steak sandwiches and bread, so we both had the double cut filet mignon, medium rare.
*slurp*

but before our steaks, we had maine lobster cocktail for appetisers.
lobster tasted great, fresh and served in a dish on ice. comes w a mustard mayo dip.
there are actually 2 dips but i cant rem wat was the other, coz i din really like it.

after appetiser, it was time for the main event...
when i cut my steak, it was appetite wetting bloody meat with seared sides.
i wasted no time in putting the first piece in... and it was heavenly...
the meat juz melts in my mouth. so tender and there was no need to cut the steak as if u were sawing a piece of wood or metal.

side dishes are separate from the steaks. so we had creamed spinach.
i din touch the spinach much coz i was so occupied w my steak, and i could hardly touch it when i was done.
but the little bit i had was good too.

we had ordered their hot chocolate cake, which is a choc cake w a melted choc centre.
but bcoz we were so full, we had to cancel our dessert... :(
gona go back there again someday.
i will and i must.

and the damage to our wallets was $280.
for 2 steaks, one appetiser, one side dish and one pellagrino.
this is not counting the 4 martinis we had b4 dinner.

so massive damage... but well worth the price.

oh btw, i doggy bagged the bread. it was too good to leave it on the table.
so i brought home the bread, rachel brought home the spinach.

and so my afternoon snack today was the bread. nice and yummy.
u can smell the fragrant scent of the onion. it's not the over-powering onion smell...
and the loaf is all yellow from the egg.
i din know until i brought it home. coz the lighting in the restaurant was mainly yellow light.
so couldn't tell...

but yea... morton's is a place everyone shd go at least once in their lifetimes...

time for bed now... gota work tom.
how ironic, when i was bumming at home, i was hoping for work.
now dat there's work, i wish i can bum at home.

i am hard to please.

nitezzz *Zzzzz*

oh... fotos will b up when i get them from rachel.
they will definitely be up... only question is when.

nitezzz *Zzzzz*
